Admiration for wordsmiths

I was listening to Jennifer Knapp's Kansas CD on the way into work today. In the last few days, I've been trying to write a song, only to end up somewhat frustrated at my rather trite and cliched ways of writing. Even though I typically consider myself as reasonably eloquent, songwriting/poetry is definitely something that doesn't come easily to me. In that vein, I think I've grown more appreciative of the talent that songwriters like Knapp and other artists have, using language, metaphors, similes to paint word-pictures and illustrations... to say nothing of being able to set that poetry to music. I mean, like, wow.

New toy

My new laptop (Dell Inspiron 5100) arrived yesterday. I get to play with it tonight. Woohoo!
