The Weekend in Short
Since Eric complained about the length of my previous "20 facts" post, here's a bite-size morsel of blog to summarize the weekend...
The Good
- napping on Saturday afternoon
- jointly buying season 4 of "24" along with Chris for Hanlin's birthday
- Hawaiian food (2 meals in one)
- Thai food at Krungthai
- Chris' preaching on living a life of constant devotion, using sports busts as counterpoint
- good discussion on Biblical communication in Sunday School - what would you do if a fellowship group you commissioned is teaching things not consistent with the parent church?
- held the court for 2 straight hours of consecutive games of hoops, playing solid basketball with clearly defined roles for everyone on our squad. Plus it always feels good when you're guarding the other team's top offensive threat well and you overhear him saying to his teammates, "Get this guy off of me!"
- X-men Legends 2 multi-player pounding with Byron, Hanlin, and Esther
The Ugly
- definition of NBA junkie: right now, I am scoreboard watching the two exhibition games going on.
The Bad
- death toll as a result of the Pakistan/India earthquake is at 20k and rising. What with the tsunami, two hurricanes, and now this, the world seems to have endured more than a normal share of heartache and tragedy in the last 12 months.
