I jinxed myself. Note the times in this chat with Karen, who was nice enough to update me with live happenings from the games as I followed the Giants, A's, and Cal Bears online while at work today:

The only silver lining here is that the Giants aren't eliminated from the playoffs just yet... but they'll need some help from Colorado against the Astros. Dangit!

At least Cal rolled and is looking good going into their showdown against USC next week.

And the NBA starts up in less than a month.

Ah, the agony of sports fandom... gotta love it.
